UNCF’s mission is to build a robust and nationally recognized pipeline of underrepresented students who, because of UNCF support, become highly qualified college graduates and to ensure that our network of member institutions is a respected model of best practices in moving students to and through college.
The onset of COVID-19 forced UNCF to suspend our in-person fundraising, close all our offices and transition to a virtual workplace. The $100 million expected to raise in their fiscal year was not going to happen so they scaled back their target to one-half that number. Despite the set-back, UNCF wanted to show that it is stronger than ever to pursue its mission.
The design was bold and confident to enforce this continued commitment.
